Got my original Clarion stereo unit back to working after being told by a fellow Citroen XM driver on how to unsolder the connections that define the stereo lock combination.
once you open the bottom of the stereo, there's an area next to the big processing unit where there's 14 pairs of connection points. Your stereo will have 6 pairs that have solders on them. These pairs vary from stereo unit and define the locking code:
If you remove the solder the locking combination defaults to 1112:
This works for Clarion PU-9358A stereo units, I am not sure if it works for other Clarion units installed in Citroen

There probably is, but I don’t know
Wellicht dat het mogelijk is om van radio's met een bekende code de combinaties van de 14 pinnen te ontcijferen? Als de cijfercombinatie bekend is, hoef je niet meer te solderen....
