Nice pictures from a very nice car! Hope you can make some sense from the Dutch language, I'm sure you can post your questions in English and we'll be able to understand you perfectly :D
I have only one problem and it is a catalyst (it's very noisy). Must be replaced, but I do not know with what.
The original is very expensive - 1300EUR. :?
On behalve of me too, welcome at this forum.
I think to get affordable parts for an XM will take some search as they were originally not sold in your country. I know from Hungaria that carshops could get their hands on replacement parts (either original or not) but went to Germany or Italy to buy it there. And that could take weeks.
If it's just the catalyst part this might be of interest to you:

Still a lot of money though. But it's available. From my car (same model/engine/gearbos as yours) the last silencer is not as good as I want it to be. But I've not found a replacement yet....

In Bulgaria have Citroen dealer. I ordered parts only from there, but wait 10 days for delivery from France.
Three months ago I renewed my exhaust generation - original. The car is very quiet now, but the catalyst started to be destroyed and hear a ringing sound :problem:
This is photo of my new exhaust generation:
socks are also included in kit

Coolman, this is NOT an original catalyst converter for ES9 but a UK build
OEM similar one (hence Uni-Fit). The quality is not the same as Citroën. It didn't last on my
ES9 for longer than 2 years and then the annual test failed.
It's up to you if you want to buy it or not.
BTW, I know from experience that it is the same one is this one:
http://cgi.ebay.it/Catalytic-Converter-Citroen-Xm-3-0I-24V-97-00-/200598387035
That is my Car
The 38 is a bit too far actually. I had to widen a LITTLE. 43 WOULD BE BETTER i THINK, OR MAYBE 40 WILL DO THE TRICK.
33 ISN'T POSSIBLE I THINK...
I have 17" 7J ET40 wheels and they fit without any problems.
With the car in the lowest position I can put my little finger round the outside.
On the inside of the wheel is a bit more space.

So I think that 8J and ET40 will also fit without problems, but I dont know for sure.
I meant that the ET 33 probably won't fit on a Xm.
On this picture you can see how `wide´ the wheels go with ET 38, go even further and it won´t fit
On 8J ET33 it's more 5mm out!

Yes, with 8J ET40 will fit without problems.
BasisBIX what's your tires size ?
I use this calculator
http://www.1010tires.com/wheeloffsetcalculator.asp
and start from 6J ET43 (original XM rims).
Thank you boys.
I will look for other wheels, maybe TOMASON TN4 7,5J ET42

I confused :?
what is not original parts from Citroën specialist Automobielbedrijf Enting BV Zwartsluis or this from your link (ebay) or both is the same ?
He meant both are the same, both NOT original. Still, €540 for another two years of XM fun is not that much...
En een handtekening!!!!
 Hi there Coolman!! Nice to meet you here again! Verry nice car indeed. Can we use one of those pix for our new 2012 XM CLub calendre???
Hello again :D
I will be happy to present my car photo on your calendar 8)
Please, tell me which photo you like?
Hi,
Nice Xm!
About the catalyst, its not an original part! The ad gives this idea, but it's not...
I have one question
http://postimage.org/image/q06l74ec1/
18" 8J Offset 33 from Citroen C5 X7
Do you think that rims will be fit on XM2 ?
For 8J Offset 38 I know is not problem but 33 :wtf:
This rims is 8J ET38
but this is 8J ET33 from C6... maybe :problem:
Thank you
That is my Car

33 ISN'T POSSIBLE I THINK...
Hi, but this rims is from C6 - 18" 8J ET33 :wtf:
very strange...
I meant that the ET 33 probably won't fit on a Xm.
Off course the size does exist

Perhaps the C6 wheels will fit with a spacer?
I have 17" 7J ET40 wheels and they fit without any problems.

http://tomason.de/tn4_presentation.php
225-45 R17
I did the following calculations.
If your disks is 276mm you can add +2 to +4 point to end ET.
5.5J - ET from 19 to 37
6J - ET from 13 to 43
6.5J - ET from 19 to 49
7J - ET from 26 to 56
7.5J - ET from 32 to 54
8J - ET from 38 to 48
I hope to be helpful in the selection of wheels
Hello,
I found this image in your forum
Do you know who is the owner of the car?
I have question to him, how fit this alloy wheels from C6 to XM.
Thank you.
